Review of Ward 1 AMU written by a patient
16th March 2018

Friendly efficient medical team and staff. Sometime I struggle to understand how they keep so calm in the face of patients who can not or will not follow their advice but they do remain calm and deliver an outstanding service. A hospital stay is always one of noise and movement and it is hard to rest but it is good to know that when the food arrives it will be tasty. OK the sandwiches are boring mass catering things but the cooked food is tasty. Food wise my only criticism is the constant offer of sugar on cereals. We all know its bad so ,maybe a hospital stay should be 'hard time' and deny patients of the bad stuff.

Review of Emergency Department written by a family member
14th March 2018

I would like to commend Amy Hooley, Emergency Services Nurse, for the care she gave to my son, Robin Taylor Durr, on Tues 6 March 2018. She was helpful, caring and informative - as the carer for my sick son, she gave me the information and support I needed, in a very busy overnight Emergency ward situation. Thank you. in friendship Lee Taylor

Review of Day Surgery Unit written by a family member
19th February 2018

Milton Keynes hospital often gets a lot of bad press but I think it’s important to also highlight the positive. My mum recently broke her ankle and ended up in A and E followed by the Day surgery unit.During her 2 days there, she was treated with nothing but care and sympathy by several staff members. When she had to go to surgery, unfortunately without family there, the staff could see how scared she was and were very reassuring and made my mum feel calmer. After her operation,as her family weren’t aware of exactly what was happening,we rang several times (so many infact that I myself would have got impatient, but only only out of worry for her) and each time we spoke to kind and considerate staff even though they were all obviously busy with the 40 patients on the ward. This is the second time I have had to spend time at the hospital in the past 6 months (the first being maternity ward) and the second time I have had nothing but praise for the hard working, kind and caring staff team that work here.People forget that these staff work long hours and often have to deal with rude and unappreciative people. But myself and my family would like to say thank you to them for the amazing work they do!

Review of Emergency Department written by a patient
19th February 2018

After all the media hype about long waits and time spent on A&E, I would like to say how pleasantly surprised i was at the speed of treatment and the pleasant and friendly treatment i received on saturday. As a visitor to the area i attended A&R mis morning with a painful knee and barely able to walk. Processed by friendly and understanding reception staff within minutes. Seen by a triage nurse within 15 minutes, who diagnosed the problem quickly, x rayed as a precaution - again with only minutes in the waiting room. Treated by the same triage nurse with support bandage dressing and issued with crutches. Handed my notes and x Ray DVD, for my local GP/Hospital (the longest wait was for the DVD) and out of the door waiting for my wife to pick me up within One HOUR! Brilliant! Thank you OK hospital.Well done to all involved a great advert for the hospital and the NHS.

Review of Audiology Department written by a family member
1st February 2018

Today was the second time in the last couple of months that I have had to visit the audiology clinic on behalf of my elderly mother who wears two hearing aids and suffers from Alzheimer’s disease. On both occasions I found the responsiveness and helpfulness of the staff, especially Franca, to be exceptionally good. They fully appreciated that I had travelled from London in order to resolve problems with my mum’s hearing aids and went out of their way to help me promptly and understood how important it is to my mother to be able to communicate with people now she suffers with dementia. They were very understanding of the fact that she is no longer able to look after her hearing aids as she has in the past.

Review of Hysteroscopy written by a patient
30th January 2018

I had a colposcopy on 05/01/2018 and I just wanted to thank the lovely ladies that helped me (and my mum) through the procedure. They were all friendly and really made me feel much more comfortable about it all by making me laugh and engaging in conversation. I really appreciate how wonderful you all are and how other women will be comforted the same way. Thank you, you all do such an amazing job.
